The following couple of verses may be read - with advantage : ताम्रा नाम विभाति पावनतरा काचिन्नदी तत्तटे रम्या भागवतोत्तमैः सुरगुरोस्तुल्यैर्लसद्बुद्धिभिः / आक्रान्ता श्रुतिपारगैर्बुधवरैः श्रीविठ्ठलाख्या पुरी तत्रास्ते विबुधावतंसरसिकः श्रीवेङ्कटायः प्रभुः // तस्यात्मजेन विदुषा बुधवंशजेन श्रीकौशिकान्वयपयोधिसुधांशुना च / श्लाघ्याष्टगोत्रकुलजेन मयाधुनाय्या शास्त्रीतिनामकविना क्रियते मुदायम् // They prove that the work has been written by Ayya.sa.siti, a native of Vittalapuri on the banks of the river Tamraparni. It becomes evident from a stanza in the beginning of the commentary that Ramanuja, the commentator, was the author's great grandson and son of Srinivasa. The commentary is styled Balanuranjani. Remarks--The closing verse of the work testifies that this work was written on the 7th day of the month of Medam in the year 4851 of the Kali era. corresponding to April 1750 A. D.
