________________ Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra www.kobatirth.org Acharya Shri Kailassagarsuri Gyanmandir (xxxvii) In the $175 Satu Gadadhara observes tLat the Oriya Vaishnavas perform #r' like the Smartas e. g., Ta t aga sura: Enraan air finigai Krshy a Migra who was posterior to Gadadhara writes a separate section called वैष्णव प्रकरण which is the last chapter of his कालसर्वस्व wherein he makes an elaborate discussion about the fasts and festivals etc., observed by differant sects of Vaishnavas e. g., Flea, wiecora, gan e cores, CIATTIAEF. Era, Jific acora and the appropriate time of their observance by the respective sects. The most important point deserving mention here is the discussion about afaragat and freight for the second time in the Kalasarvasva, which are first mentioned in the lady by Raghunatha Dasa. They are not found in the Smrti works of Orissa written prior to 1700 A. D. On this Ksshqa Misra makes the following observation- "gala tigifTSATHA CHEFTETIE Affet, qui craratia 679tra Fri सत्वाच्च तत् किञ्चित् लिख्यते" ललिताजन्म is to be observed on the Sukla Saptami of Bhadra and TISTIH-A is to be ovserved on the next day which was formaly known as ज्येष्ठाष्टमी. Here he remarks ज्येष्ठेति राधायाः नामाFaciala fa (F. 135) At another place (F.137) he states that Fifca i ght is deemed holy as on that day Sri Krshna macle Radhi the overlord of Bindavana. From the above discussion it may be concluded that Krshna Misia, who was a Smarta had to incorporate the festivals connected with Radha in his work on Dharmasastra as by his time (mid 18th century) Radha, who is not mentioned in the previous Smrti works has become deified and the devo tees of Sri Radha-Krshua had formed an influential section in Orissa due to the preachings of Rasikananda Gosvaini, Baladeva Vidyabhusana and others. Thus Kalasarvasva throws some new light on the developinent of Radha Krshna worship in Orissa, which was steadily gaining ground in his days and becarne dominant in the society during the last two centuries. Krshna Misra, who was an erudite scholar ntilised all available works to make his flat as authentic and authoritative as was possible in that age. He also wrote another work called y EET For Private and Personal Use Only
