Frei Manoel da Assumpcao was native of Evora who wrote Bengali grammar in Portuguese and a Bengali prose dialogue with a Portuguese version of the original text. These mss. provides specimens of the latter 17th century Bengali prose; the earliest known prose work in Bengali; description with beginning, contents. The article also highlights the printed text and availability. These manuscripts were also described in “Descriptive catalogue of the manuscripts at Evora” by Cunba Rivara.
