and unmanifest form Brahman remains uncontaminated by the imperfections of the world and by the sufferings of the jivas, which are only its modes. It is free from all imperfections and consists of pure knowledge and bliss; and that the sentient and the non-sentient things whether in the non-evolved or evolved state, are merely the play-things of the Brahman and their creation and reabsorption take place only for the sport of the Brahman.' The Isvara creates everything out of Himself and acts as the material cause (39197AUT) and also as the efficient cause (faf Error) of the world. He creates the world out of His own stuff as His own body with His wonderful power, and though He is one, He asssumes the infinite number of particular objects. Thus, the world is a concretisation of the potentialities existing in the Brahman. The Brahman is savis'eşa or qualified by the two distinctions (#), cit (sentient) and acit (insentient) in it. Rāmānuja is a bhedābhedavādin believing that the Brahman is identical with the world and still it possesses its own nature independently. Rāmānuja describes the Brahman in the following way—“The highest Brahman, whose nature is fundamentally antagonistic to all evil and essentially composed of infinite knowledge and bliss - whereby it differs from all other souls — possesses an infinite number of qualities of unimaginable excellence, and analogously, a divine form suitable to its nature, and intentions, i.e.
