The present work which begins with the concluding portion on dāna ends with prāyaścitta, The author, Premanidhi Panta, was the son of Umāpati and Uddyotamati. He was a native of Kūrmācala (Kumaon) and had settled at Benares. The Ms. of Jagatpremodaya as described by Haraprasāda Shāstri in his Cat, of Asiatic Society of Bengal, Vol. III, No. 2093 is almost identical with our work, except for the name and for the date. Our work was composed in śakā 1659 and Jagatpremodaya in Saka 1663. Our author seems to have been a great tantrika as he composed Prayogaratnākara (1. O. Cat. No. 2595).
