and ends on fol. I7. Fol. 16 is missing. 1886-92. It is the first chapter of वैद्यचिन्तामणि of वल्लुभेन्द्र. We find the following note about this work in Madras Govt. Oriental Mss. library Cat. Vol. XXIII, P. 8805.
“A treatise on medicine dealing with diagnosis of diseases with the purifications of substances for being used in medicinal preparations, with mercurial compound and with the preparation of drugs, decoctions, etc., for the curing of diseases. The author is Vallabhendra, son of Amareśvarabhațţa of Śrīvatsagotra and of Āpastambasūtra.
He belonged to the Indrakaộthĩ family." Age.-Appears to be old. Author.- Vallabhendra. Begins.--- fol. 12
अथ श्रीनाडीनिदानरूपलक्षणप्राणवायुलक्षणकंठलक्षण असाध्यलक्षणपरिक्षा लिष्यते ॥ श्रीनाथं पार्वतीनाथं वाणीनाथं सरस्वतीं । दुर्गावटकहेरंबान नमस्ते सतताम्यहं ॥१॥ श्रीवत्सगोत्रतिलकं जगद्वंदिपितामहं । कूचनार्यस्य (corrected as अमरेश्वर on the margin ) भट्टस्य प्रसून सगुणोन्नतं ॥२॥ यधनार्यश्च (corrected as बल द्रवि on the margin) रचितो जनानां हितकारणं। वैद्यचिन्तामणिर्नाम भैषज्यं ग्रंथमुत्तमं ॥३॥ etc.
