काशिजनपदनिलयास्तुरगमेधं सर्वमेधं च निर्माय । मंगदिनः कुण्डलिनः कंकणिनो येन विरचिता बुबुधाः ॥४॥ वंशेस्मिन्दशपुत्र नामनि महान् विष्णुर्द्विजाम्यस्त्वसूत् सूनुस्तस्य सुधीर्गदाधर इति ख्यातो जगत्याख्यया। तत्पुत्रेण सदाशिवेन कृपया श्रीविश्वनाथप्रभो

प्राज्ञश्रीजयसिंहनामनृपतेस्तोषाय या निर्मिता साचारस्मृतिचंद्रिकाऽतिविमला विद्वच्छकोरेष्टदा । तां पश्यतु परीक्षकाः सहृदयाः नि:पक्षपातं बुधास्तेनेयं गुणवत्तराहि भविता गौरीपतेस्तुष्टये ॥

Three different hand-writings (i) fol. 1-19; (ii). fol. 20-24; (iii) fol. 25-73. Names of authorities, etc. are again tinged with red pigment from fol. 37 onwards; foll. 33-36 missing.
The work is a manual of daily religious rites of the followers of white Yajurveda. It quotes from several Smộtis (See Kane below). The author Sridatta Upadhyaya is one of the earlist among the mediavel Maithila nibandhakāras.
He flourished in the last quarter of the 13th century A.D. Age.- Appears to be old. Author.- Sridatta Upadhyaya.
