Gomukhaprasavaśānti No. 387 Size.- 8] in. by 4 in. Extent.— 5 leaves ; 7 lines to a page ; 17 letters to a line. Description.- Country paper ; Devanāgari characters; handwriting
legible, corrections and explanations given on the margin; paper old, musty and soiled.
A work dealing with removing the evil consequences of a child being born under an inauspicious nakşatra, by bringing him near the mouth of a cow and performing other similar ceremonies. Aufrecht's explanation of Gomukhaprasava 'ceremonies to be performed on a cow bringing forth a young with the face in front' (Cap. Cat. i, 165") is wrong. Our text partially agrees with that of Anantācārya's Goprasavaśānti, a ms. described by Hara
prasad Shastri (see below). Age.- Appears to be old. Author.- Anonymous. Begins.- fol. 14.
