ॐ नमो महते नारायणाय ॥ ॐ अंभस्य पारे भुवनस्य मध्ये नाकस्य पृष्ठे महतो महीयान् । शुक्रण ज्योतींषि समनुप्रविष्टः प्रजापतिश्चरति गर्भ अंतः ॥१॥ etc.

देवानामेव महिमानं गत्वा आदित्यस्य महिमानं गच्छत्यथ यो दक्षिणे प्रमीयते पितृणामेव महिमानं गत्वा चंद्रमसः सायुज्यं गच्छत्येतौ सूर्याचंद्रमसौ महिमानौ ब्राह्मणो विद्वानभिजयति तस्माद्राह्मणो महिमानमामोति तस्माब्राह्मणो महिमानमामोत्युपनिषत् ॥
