leaves ; 4 to 7 lines to a leaf; 120 to 130 letters to a line. Description.- Palm-leaf; Jaina Devanagari characters; big, bold,
legible and elegant hand-writing; this Ms. written in three interdependent columns; the first line of the first column continues in the 2nd and the 3rd as well; so the columns are only for show; each column has its borders ruled in four lines in black ink ; red chalk used ; this work commences with leaf 1998 and is thus a counterpart of the preceding Ms. No. 73; numbers for leaves entered twice as in its former part; the third column of leaves 180-186, 215-217 & 226-227 more or less worn out; a part of the first column of leaf 198 gone; in every leaf there are two holes on the whole, once between each of the two columns; leaf 272 repeated ; the repeated leaf 272 written on a piece of white paper : its edges worn out; some of the leaves worm-eaten; half of the 3rd column of leaves 289 & 291-293 gone ; a strip of paper pasted to leaves 290, 294", 2976 & 3286 ; leaves 296 & 298 torn in several places; the first column of leaves 317-318 badly damaged ; leaves 319 & 320 have their first column dislodged from others ; leaves 336 & 348 damaged throughout; the first half of leaves 342 & 343 worn out; the last column of leaves 349 & 350 practically
