FOREWORD
The two volumes of An Alphabetical List of Manuscripts in the Oriental Institute, Baroda were published in 1942 and 1950 respectively as the Gaekwad's Oriental Series No. 97 and 114. Both of them were out of print since long and were in great demand from the scholarly world. The reprinting of them was a necessity. The first volume of An Alphabetical list of Manuscripts in the Oriental Institute, Baroda covering 7348 works of collection has recently been reprinted by photo-offset. Looking to the demand, the second volume reprinted by the same process is also being reissued hereby for the benefit of the scholarly world. It covers 9077 mss. of the collection. The third volume covering another 6000 works has recently been published. The work of the fourth volume is also in progress and will cover all the remaining works of the collection of the Oriental Institute.
I hope this volume will also be well-received by the scholars and students as its previous edition.
