PREFACE
It is with great pleasure that we offer to the scholars the second part of our Catalogue of Sanskrit and Prakrit Mss: Munirāja Sri Punyavijayaji's Collection.
In this part 2881 Mss, on defferent subjects are listed with important Colophons etc. thereof. This part also is compiled by Munirāja Sri Puṇyavijayaji and is edited by Pt. Ambalal P. Shah of the Institute.
It begins with the Jaina Purana Mss. and ends with the Ayurveda Mss. Now only the Mss on Jyotişa remain to be listed in the third part. Various indices will be given in the third part. We hope to complete and publish within a year this Catalogue of the Mss of Muniraja Sri Punyayijayaji's Collection.
« This Catalogue is compiled according to the Scheme for the Publication of the Catalogues of Mss. of the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, New Delhi. We give below the explanations which will help the readers to understand fully the significance of the 11 Columns in which the information about a particular Ms. is given :
Col. No. 1: The subject followed by the serial number of the Ms. is mentioned in this column. The letter E after the number of the Ms. denotes that extra information is given about the Ms. at the end of the Catalogue in the Appendix
Col. No. 2 : In this column the accession No. of Munirája Šri Punyavijayaji's Collection in the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Bharatiya Sanskriti Vidya Mandir, Ahmedabad, is given. When more than one Mss. are found in a single number they are indicated in the way like 6861/15 (See page 488). It means that the particular Ms. is the fifteenth in No. 6861.
Col. No. 3 : The sign of * (asterisk) printed before the title of the Ms. denotes that the book is printed. While giving the title of the Ms. the text and the commentary are shown separately in case both of them are found. Where only the commentary is available, the game is indicated. As for example Serial No. 3824 is only the commentary. In this column C denotes the commentary and CC the Super-Commentary. SK, Pr, Og, etc. in the brackets denote the languages of Commentaries. The mode of indicating the Text and the Commentary will be clear from S. No. 3823 where the second line with a long hyphen shows the commentary. 1.
