MESSAGE The Parliament of World's Religions held in Chicago a century ago was momentous congregation of spiritual and religious leaders from all parts of the world. It had a special significance for India as it was here that Swami Vivekanand pioneered the vision of interfaith understanding and presented India's philosophy to the West.
I am happy to learn that this historic event is being celebrated by the Council for the Parliament of the World's Religions to revive and foster its spirit. Harmony and understanding among the religions of the world are essential for promoting peace. Equal respect for all religions is an article of faith with us. It is message we would like to spread far and wide.
