three lokas or the regions of the universe and their various divisions. The stars and the planets are also described, and there is a mentiou how night and day are caused by the motion of the earth. Amongst other subjects that are dealt with in this work are the various kinds of measurements and methods of reckoning time. Of the 19 manuscripts in the Balātkār mandir three bear a Sanskrit commentary (Vritti) by Madhavachandra. The Sen gan manuscripts also have the same commentary.
