Akshaya-tsitīyā.
Attributed to Vyäsa. SUBJECT.-Dharma. On the merits of a fast observed on the 3rd
of the bright fort night of Vaisakha. The full name of the work is Akshaya-tritiya-vrata-kathā which is taken from Bhavishyottara Purana, but later writers have composed the story in their own way like Ksbama-kalyāņa Pathaka, who wrote his own Akshayatritiya-vyakhyāva. The observance of the fast on this day in expiation of an injury to a bullock is regarded very important.
