In the praśasti (cf. extract) the author tells us that he wrote about the time of king Mularaja of Anhilawada. In the Chalukya dynasty of Anhilawada, two Malarajas are known to have reigned, the first from A.D. 941 to 996 and the second from A.D. 1176 to 1178, enjoying only a brief reign of two or three years (cf. Duff's chronology ). Srichandra must have been a contemporary of one of these, very probably of the first.
