D FOUR TYPES OF MATTER?
From constitutional aspect, matter can be classified into four types, viz,
1) Skanda (11) Skandha-desa (111) Skandha-pradesa (IV) Paramānu
(1) Skandha Skandha is defined as an individual aggregate composition formed by an association of elementary particles or smaller composites The smallest skandha is a 'dvipradesiya'sakndha produced by' the combination of only two paramāņus and the largest is 'achitta mahāskandha'whuch is the material body extending over the whole loka
11) Skandha-desa, A part of the whole is desa' Thus a portion of any individual composite is skandha-desa Since an aggregate is divisible it can be considered as made up of a number of portions It should be remembered that division is merely conceptual When, on the other hand, a composite aggregate breaks up into fragments, each fragment
