fledged, do not recognize any parents. Blessed, indeed, is the man who is able to look upon woman as the representative of the motherhood of God. Blessed, indeed, is the woman to whom man represents the fatherhood of God. Blessed are the children who look upon their parents as Divinity manifested on earth.
The only way to rise is by doing the duty that is in our hands now, and making ourselves stronger; and thus go on growing higher, and higher, until we reach the highest state. Nor is duty of any kind to be slighted. I say again that a man who does the lower work is not, therefore, a lower man, than he who does the higher work ; a man should not be judged by the nature of his duties, but by the manner in which he does them. His manner of doing them and his power to do them are indeed the test of the man. A shoe-maker, who can turn out a strong, nice pair of shoes in the shortest possible time, is a better man, according to his profession and his work, than a professor, who talks nonsense every day of his life.
