comes a young man, a Sannyasin, as handsome as if the sun had come down to the earth, and he stands in one corner of the assembly, watching what is going on. The throne with the princess comes near him, and as soon as she sees the beautiful Sannyasin, she stops and throws the garland over him. The young Sannyasin seizes the garland and throws it off, exclaiming, “What nonsense do you mean by that? I am a Sannyasin. What is marriage to me? The king of that country thinks that perhaps this man is poor, and so does not dare to marry the princess; he says to him, “With my daughter goes half my kingdom now, and the whole kingdom after my death!” and puts the garland again on the Sannyasin. The young man throws it off once more, saying, “What nonsense is this? I do not want to marry," and walks quickly away from the assembly. ..
Now the princess had fallen so much in love with this young man that she said, “I must marry this man or I shall die;" and she went after
