But it is impossiblc for the Jceva to walk on upon thc path of Total Deliverance as long as it is associated with another principle, thc Ajeeva or matter. This Ajcera is in all respects the opposite of Jcera. The association of these two is never complctc, i. c. their scpcra. tion is always potential. Matter or Ajecia is divided in Pudgal, Dharam, Adharam, Akash and Kal. A Pulgal is either a matcrial or its bundlc. Dharma hclps the Jeera associated withi Pudgal to progress, just as water helps on the movements of a fish. Adharna cnriccs a man from the truc path just as the shadow of a tree docs to a man travelling in the hot sun. Akash is the space in which all things cxist. Kal is that through which things grow new and alicr.
