We need not imagine, however, that our thought cannot apprehend them at one moment. On the other hand, it is thought only that by virtue of selfconsciousness can transcend this duality of aspects existing in the same thing. Even, we may go so far as to say that the positive aspect, namely, what it is, can scarcely be known without the knowledge of the negative aspect namely, what it is not and vice versu.
