ANCIENT JAINA HYMNS
3. THE VARAKĀŅA-PĀRŠVANĀTHA-STAVANA.
The author of this hymn is Acarya Hemavimala Suri, a well-known ecclesiastic diginitary, for whose life the following sources are available:
(1) "Vira-vaṁsāvalı" in Gujarati, a work which seems to be full of detailed information, but was accessible only in abstract;1
(2) "Laghu-Posālika-paṭṭāvali", likewise available only in abstract;2
(3) "Hemavimala-phāga" by Muni Hamsadhira, pupil of Dānavardhana, V. S. 1554, edited by Muni Jinavijaya;3
