The inequality in artistic attainments becomes palpable when one compares the abduction-scene (plate 33B) in Cave 10 (Ganesa-gumpha) with that (plate 33A) of the upper storey of Cave 1 (Rāņi-gumpha). The difference may be due to the varied skill of the artists or the interval of time which enabled the artists, improving through experience, to attain mastery in sculptural qualities and compositions, though the interval could not have been appreciable.
