सोमसेनभट्टारकविरचित-
नीलरक्तं यदा वखं श्राद्धः स्वाङ्गेषु धारयेत् । जन्तुसन्ततिसंवाद्यो वसेद्यमपुरे ध्रुवम् ॥ २८ ॥
जो श्रावक, नीले रंगका या लाल रंगका कपड़ा अपने शरीरमें धारण करता है वह प्राणियों के शरीरमें कीड़ा उत्पन्न होकर यमपुरमें चिरकाल तक निवास करता है । भावार्थ- वह मरकर प्राणियों के शरीरमें कीड़ा होता है । वर्णन कई प्रकारके होते हैं, कोई बीभत्स्य होते हैं जो जीवोंको पर पदार्थोंसे अरुचि करानेवाले होते हैं। कोई भयानक होते हैं । यहाँ पर यह वर्णन भयानक मालूम पड़ता है । इससे नीले या लाल रंगका कपड़ा न पहननेका भय दिखाया गया है इसका सारांश यही है कि इस तरहके कपड़े नुकसान करनेवाले होते हैं, इस लिए ऐसे

कौशिके पट्टसूत्रे च नीलीदोषो न विद्यते । स्त्रियो वस्त्रं सदा त्याज्यं परवस्त्रं च वर्जयेत् ॥ २९ ॥
रेशमी वस्त्र तथा पट्ट सूत्रमें नीलापन हो तो उसमें कोई हानि नहीं है । तथा श्रावकोंको स्त्रियोंके पहनने के कपड़े और औरोंके पहने हुए कपड़े कभी नहीं पहनना चाहिए ॥ २९ ॥
उक्तंच - परान्नं परवस्त्रं च परशैय्या परस्त्रियः ।
परस्य च गृहे वासः शक्रस्यापि श्रियं हरेत् ॥ ३० ॥
अधिक तो क्या कहा जाय पर पराया अन्न खाना, पराये कपड़े पहनना, पराई शैया पर सोना, पराई स्त्रीका सेवन करना और पराये घरमें रहना इंद्रकी भी शोभा नष्ट कर देते हैं अर्थात् इन कामोंके करनेसे औरोंकी बात तो दूर रहे पर भारी सामर्थ्यशाली इंद्रकी भी शोभा नष्ट हो जाती है ॥ ३० ॥
अधौतं कारुधौतं वा पूर्वेद्युधतमेव च । त्रयमेतदसम्बन्धं सर्वकर्मसु वर्जयेत् ॥ ३१ ॥
जो कपड़ा धोया हुआ न हो, शूद्रों द्वारा धोया गया हो, पहले दिनका धोया हुआ हो ये तीनों ही प्रकारके कपड़े पहनने के काबिल नहीं हैं । अतः ऐसे कपड़ोंको पहन कर कोई क्रियायें न करें ॥ ३१ ॥
पद्धतं स्त्रिया धौतं शूद्रधौतं च चेटकैः । बालकैधतमज्ञानैरधौतमिति भाष्यते ॥ ३२ ॥
जो कपड़ा कम धुला हो, स्त्रियों द्वारा धोया गया हो, शूद्रों द्वारा घोया गया हो, नोकरों द्वारा धोया गया हो और अज्ञानी बालकोंके द्वारा धोया गया हो तो वह न धोये हुए सरीखा कहा गया है ॥ ३२ ॥
