सोमसेनभट्टारकविरचित...... अयं मन्त्रो महामन्त्रः सर्वपापविनाशकः ।
... अष्टोत्तरशतं जप्तो धर्ते कार्याणि सर्वशः ।। ८४ ॥ .. इस अपराजित मंत्रको महामंत्र कहते हैं । यह सम्पूर्ण पापोंका नाश करनेवाला है और उसके एकसौ आठ जप करनेसे सब तरहके कार्य सिद्ध होते हैं ।। ८४ ॥
हिंसानृतान्यदारेच्छाचुराश्चातिपरिग्रहः । अमूनि पञ्च पापानि दुःखदायीनि संसृतौ ।। ८५ ॥ अष्टोत्तरशतं भेदास्तेषां पृथगुदाहृताः। हिंसा तत्र कृता पूर्व करोति च करिष्यति ॥ ८६ ॥ मनोवचनकायैश्च ते तु त्रिगुणिता नत्र । पुनः स्वयं कृतकारितानुमोदैर्गुणाहतिः ॥८७॥ सप्तविंशतिस्ते भेदाः कपायैर्गुणयेच तान् ।
अष्टोत्तरशतं ज्ञेयमसत्यादिषु तादृशम् ॥ ८८ ॥ हिंसा, झूठ, चोरी, कुशील और परिग्रह ये पाँच पाप हैं जो संसारमें अत्यन्त ही दुःखके देनेवाले हैं । इन पाँचमिसे एक एक एकसो आठ आठ भेद होते हैं । जैसे-पहले हिंसा की; इस समय हिंसा करता है और आगे करेगा इस तरह हिंसाके तीन भेद हुए। पुन: इन तीनोंको मन, वचन, कायसे गुणा करने पर नौ भेद, कृतकारित अनुमोदनासे गुणा करने पर सत्ताईस भेद और क्रोध, मान, माया, लोभ इन चार कषायोंसे गुणा करने पर एकसौ आठ भेद हिंसाके हो जाते हैं। इसी तरह झूठके एकसौ आठ, चौरीके एकसौ आठ, कुशील सेवनके एकसौ आठ और परिग्रहके एकसौ आठ, एवं पाँच पापोंके उत्तर भेद पाँचसौ चालीस हो जाते हैं ॥ ८५-८६-८७-८८॥

समरंभ, समारंभ और आरंभ इन तीनोंको मन, वचन और कायसे गुणने पर नव भेद; कृत, कारित और अनुमोदना इन तीनोंसे गुणने पर सत्ताईस भेद और फिर क्रोध, मान, माया लोभसे गुणने पर एकसौ आठ भेद हो जाते हैं। इन एकसौ आठको पंच पापांसे गुणनेसे पाँचसौ चालीस भेद हो जाते हैं।
