एक संवत्सर हो तो एक मातासे उत्पन्न दो पुत्रोंका अथवा दो पुत्रियोंका अथवा पुत्र और पुत्रीका छह महीने पहले पहले विवाह न करे। हां, यदि वर्ष-भेद हो तो छह महीने पहले . पहले कर सकते हैं । इसी तरह पुत्र अथवा पुत्रोके विवाह के छह महीने पहले एक संवत्सरमें चौलकर्म 'भी न करे। वर्ष-भेद हो तो कोई हानि नहीं है । अपरके श्लोकोंमें पुनरुक्तताका विचार नहीं करना चाहिए क्योंकि ये श्लोक भिन्न भिन्न ऋषियोंके बनाये हुए हैं, यहांपर- उनको संग्रह किया गया है। अतः पुनरुक्तताका आना स्वाभाविक बात है ॥ १९३. ॥ .

दोप: स्यात्सर्ववणेपु न दोपो भिन्नमातृषु ॥ १९४ ॥ एक मातासे उत्पन्न पुत्रियों के परिवेदनका सभी वर्गों में दोष माना गया है । परन्तु भिन्नभिन्न माताओंसे उत्पन्न पुत्रियों के परिवेदनमें कोई दोष नहीं है। भावार्थ-बड़ी पुत्रीके विवाहके पहले छोटी पुत्रीका विवाह करनेको परिवेदन कहते हैं। एक मातासे उत्पन्न हुई दो पुत्रियोंमेंसे छोटी पुत्रीका विवाह पहले करना और बड़ी पुत्रीका वादमें करना दोष है । परन्तु भिन्न-भिन्न माताओंसे उत्पन्न हुई दो पुत्रीयोंमेंसे छोटी पुत्रीका विवाह पहले कर दिया जाय और बड़ी पुत्रीका यादमें करे तो कोई दोष नहीं है ॥ १९४ ॥

If a woman does not have children within ten years of her first marriage, her husband can remarry. If a woman only has daughters and no sons, her husband can remarry after twelve years. If a woman has children but they do not survive, her husband can remarry after fifteen years. If a woman is childless and unpleasant, her husband can remarry immediately.
