नाखिनां च नदीनां च शृंगिणां शस्त्रपाणिनाम् । . वनितानां नृपाणां च चोराणां व्यभिचारिणाम् ।। १६९ ॥ . खलानां निन्दकानां च लोभिना मद्यपायिनाम् ।
विश्वासो नैव कर्तव्यो वञ्चकानां च पापिनाम् ॥ १७० ॥ . . . नखोंसे प्रहार करनेवाले जानवरों, नदियों, सींगवाले जानवरों, हथियार धारण किये हुए मनुष्यों, स्त्रियों, राजाओं, चोरों, व्यभिचारी पुरुषों, दुष्टों, निंदकों, लोभी मनुष्यों, शराब पीनेवाले मनुष्यों, ठगियों और पापियोंका कभी विश्वास न करे || १६९-१७० ॥
मध्ये न पूज्ययोर्गच्छेन्न पृच्छेदप्रयोजनम् ।
वहिर्देशात्समायातः स्नात्वाऽऽचम्य विशेदगृहम् ॥ १७१ ॥ पूज्य पुरुषोंके बीचमें होकर गमन न करे । प्रयोजनके बिना किसीसे कुछ न पूछे । बाहिर देशसे आया हो तो स्नान-आचमन कर घरमें प्रवेश करे ॥ १७१ ॥
आरम्भे तु पुराणस्यान्यव्यापारस्य कस्यचित् ।
नमः सिद्धेभ्य इत्युच्चैनम्रीभूतो वदेवचः ॥ १७२ ॥ शास्त्रके मारंभमें अथवा और किसी कार्यके शुरुवातमें नम्रताके साथ “ॐ नमः सिद्धम्मः" इस पदका उच्चारण करे ॥ १७२ ॥
भुञ्जानोऽप्यहिक सौख्यं परलोक विचिन्तयेत् ।
स्तनमेकं पिवन्वालोऽन्यस्तनं मदयेद्भुवि ॥ १७३ ॥ इस लोक सम्बन्धी सुखोंको भागते हुए भी परलोकं सम्बन्धी सुखका चितवन करे । जैसे कि बालक अपनी माताके एक स्तनको पीता रहता है और दूसरेको अपने हाथसे पकड़े रहता है। भावार्थ-मनुष्योंको अपने उभय (दोनों) लोक सम्बन्धी मुखका चितवन करना चाहिए ॥ १७३ ।।
कृत्वैवं लौकिकाचारं धर्म विस्मारयेन हि ।
सन्ध्यादिवन्दनां कुर्यादीपं प्रज्वलयेद्गृहे ॥ १७४ ॥ इस तरह लौकिक आचरणका पालन करता हुआ गृहस्थधर्मको न भूले, सन्ध्यावन्दना आदि करता रहे; और शामको घरमें दीपक जलावे ॥ १७४ ॥
रवेरस्तं समारभ्य यावत्सूर्योदयो भवेत् । यस्य तिष्ठेदगृहे दीपस्तस्य नास्ति दरिद्रता ॥ १७५ ॥ आयुष्ये प्रामुखो दीपो धनायोदङ्मुखो मतः ।
प्रत्यङ्मुखोऽपि दुःखाय हानये दक्षिणामुखः ॥ १७६ ॥ सूर्यास्तसे लेकर सूर्योदय पर्यन्त जिसके घरमें दीपक जलता रहता है उसके धैरम कभी दरिद्रताका प्रवेश नहीं हो पाता है । दीपकका मुख पूर्व दिशाकी ओर करनेसे आयु बढ़ती है, उत्तरकी तरफ मुख करनेसे धन-लक्ष्मी बढ़ती है, पश्चिमकी ओर मुख करनेसे दुःख होता है और दक्षिणकी तरफ मुख करनेसे हानि होती है ॥ १७५-१७६ ॥

**174** While following worldly conduct, do not forget your Dharma. Perform Sandhyavandana and light a lamp in your home in the evening.

**175** From sunset to sunrise, if a lamp burns in a house, poverty will never enter it.
