La Jaipur-court bard, brings out interesting fact that the
"Ashvamedha Yajna' was organised by rulers to assert their supremacy over neighbouring princes as late as 200 years ago.
Bhatt in his book 'Ishwarvilasa Kavya' describes the Ashvamedha Yajna' performed by his friend and master Raja Ishwari Singh some time after he ascended the Amber gaddi in 1743 on the death of his father Sawai Jai Singh II, who founded
: Jaipur.

: Bhatt himself attended the Yajna. Besides describing the Yajna' in detail, he names the persons who witnessed the
cermiony. 7th November, 1959.
