FOREWORD
The Centre for Jain Studies, University of Rajasthan, has undertaken to conduct a survey of the various Jain temple Granth Bhandars in Jaipur and Nagaur and publish a catalogue of important manuscripts throwing valuable light on the political, social and cultural history of the country and the contribution of the Jain scholars to it. The present volume
is the first in a series planned to be published by the Centre to bring to .. light the rich literary heritage preserved in these Jain Granth Bhandars. The : editor, Dr. P. C. Jain, deserves to be congratulated for his painstaking work in scanning the vast literature preserved in the Jain temples of Jaipur and Nagaur and carefully selecting the manuscripts for being catalogued in the present volume. It is hoped the publication of the present volume would be welcomed by all those scholars who are engaged in the great task of reconstructing the past from the hitherto untapped sources.
