अध्याय -7
ज्ञानी वेद्य-वेदक भाव की आकांक्षा नहीं करता -
जो वेददि वेदिज्जदि समये समये विणस्सदे उहयं। तं जाणगो दु णाणी उहयं पि ण कंखदि कयावि॥
(7-24-216)
जो अनुभव करता है (ऐसा वेदक भाव), जो अनुभव किया जाता है (ऐसा वेद्यभाव), ये दोनों भाव (अर्थपर्याय की अपेक्षा) समय-समय में नष्ट हो जाते हैं। ऐसा जानने वाला ज्ञानी उन दोनों भावों की कदापि आकांक्षा नहीं करता।
The one who experiences (the psychic state of being a subject), and the experience itself (the psychic state of getting influenced), both dispositions are transitory (in terms of their mode). The knower of this reality never longs for any of these two dispositions.
संसार, शरीर, भोग से विरक्त - बंधुवभोगणिमित्ते अज्झवसाणोदयेसु णाणिस्स। संसारदेहविसयेसु णेव उप्पज्जदे रागो॥
(7-25-217)
बन्ध और उपभोग के निमित्तभूत संसार-सम्बन्धी और देह-सम्बन्धी रागादि अध्यवसानों के उदय में ज्ञानी के राग उत्पन्न नहीं होता।
Karmic bondage, and enjoyment of karmas, lead to the rise of worldly and bodily attachments; the knower does not have any desire for such conditions.
