चतुर्थ-प्रकरणम्
48. If a man composedly ponders over his arrogant conduct well, he would be ashamed of it and also he would find that he has made himself a fit object of ridicule in the eyes of others.
महाव्रताम्भोरुह - वासतेय्या तपःसुधादीधिति-राहुणा च । न यो जनः सञ्चरतेऽभिमानाऽध्वना स धन्यः सुरगेय - कीर्त्तिः ॥ ४९ ॥
૪૯. અભિમાન દોષ મહાવ્રતરૂપ કમલ માટે રાત્રિ સમાન અને તપપ ચન્દ્ર માટે રાહુ સમાન છે. એ દોષના રસ્તે જેણે મૂકી દીધા છે તે ધન્ય છે, અને તેના યોાવાદનાં ગીત સુરલેાક સુધી ગવાય છે.
49. That man is blessed and his glory is extolled by gods, who has habitually given up pride which is like a night to the sun-lotus of Great Vows and which acts like Rahu to the moon of austerity.
भव-स्वरूपं परिचिन्त्य सम्यक् निवार्यतां मान-भुजङ्गमोऽयम् । नैवामृत तत्सहचारितायां भवेत् परं मोहहलाहलार्त्तिः
૫૦. ભવસ્થિતિના ખરાબર વિચાર કરી અભિમાનરૂપ ભુજંગને દૂર હઠાવવા જોઈએ, એની સ`ગતમાં ‘ અમૃત ' ની પ્રાપ્તિ હોય જ શેની ? ત્યાં તે કેવળ મેહરૂપ હલાહલજ ભરેલું હાય.

50. Therefore realizing the nature of this phenomenal world, keep off the pride-serpent. Its association brings on no nectar of spiritual good. On the contrary, it forces one to swallow the bitter poison of infatuation.
माया मता योगताडुताशो ज्ञानार्गला दुर्भगतानिदानम् । आत्मार्थिना सद्व्यवहारलक्ष्मीस्पृहावता वा परिहीयत सा
