જી-હિfaઃ જીવનના ચાર ખંડે પૈકી પ્રથમ ખંડમાં શ્રી બ્રહ્મચર્યદેવ વિરાજ. માન છે. તેનું પૂજન કર્યા વગર આગળ જનાર માણસ પિતાના જીવનની અધોગતિ કરે છે. (૧)
(17) In the very first order among the four orders into wbich life is divided, resides the god Brahma (Brahmacharya ); and if one moves forward without paying homage to him, his career gets ruined.
किं सन्मतेः सम्मतिमन्तरेणोद्वाहाय सिद्धार्थनृपोऽपि कुर्यात् ? अथेहते तत्सुहृदस्तदग्रे स प्रेष्य तं बोधयितुं तदर्थे ॥१८ ॥
સન્મતિ (વર્ધમાન)ના વિવાહ માટે તેમની સમ્મતિ વગર “સિદ્ધાર્થ રાજા પણ શું કરે? હવે “સિદ્ધાર્થ રાજા વર્ધમાનના મિત્રોને તેમની પાસે મેકલીને વિવાહ માટે તેમને સમજાવવા કેશિશ કરે છે. (૧૮)
(18) What could king Siddbartha, the father of Sanmati, do with regard to his son's marriage without obtaining His consent ? In order that He might be pursuaded into marrying, His father bent & number of friends to Vardhamana
मित्रेषु साफल्यमनाप्नुवत्सु स्वयं जनन्यत्युपवधमानम् । स्नेहस्य वृष्ट्या करुणाऽऽग्रहाच मातुर्वचः स्त्रीकुरुतेऽन्ततोऽसौ ॥१९॥

હવૃષ્ટિ અને તેમના કરુણ પૂર્ણ આગ્રહથી આખરે વર્ધમાન માતાનું કહ્યું માની લે છે. (૧૯)
