statements are established in the same tenet, how is one to decide the truth ? One cannot cut the sky with the sword and apply any kind of paste over it, beacause the sky is formless and colourless and it cannot come in association with a sword and paste that have a definite form. "On this basis you have concluded, that the formless soul cannot be embodied by Karma which is of material form and very minute in appearance. Hence the doubt that you have come with is whether Karma is existent or not? Am I right”.
Agnibhuti said "Yes My Lord, What you say is true. Since years I have been doubtful in the matter of Karma. I neither tried to get it cleared from anyone nor did I tell you also anything about it. But you know everything about it since you are an omniscient. I request you to kindly clear my doubt".

Lord Mahavira then replied to Agnibhuti's doubt"Oh Agnibhuti Gautama! In this verse no mention of karma has been made and at the same time the existence of karma has also not been denied. But the verse propounds the eternity (eternal existence) of the soul. Purusha meaning soul, is ever existence i.e. it existed in the past, it exists in the present and shall exist in the future for ever.
