The Four Difficult Attainments
The Shastras describe fou purusharthas (objectives), four Sukhashayvas i bedstoads) and four rare angas (virtues) which are difficult to attain. These help puan to traverse from darkness into light. We may discuss them one by one.
Dharma (duty), Artha (wealth), Kama (desire) and moksha (salvation) are the purusharthas. It is said,
धर्मार्थ काम मोक्षणाम् यस्यै कोपि नाविध्यते अजागलस्तनस्येव तस्यजन्म निरर्थकम्
