The happiness that salvation gives us is sublime and permanent. Creatures can attain salvation only when they are in the phase of human life. That is why even gods who live in heaven desire to be born as men. The happiness of gods in heaven is transitory because when their merit declines, they have to be born as men in this world.

Puniya Shravak could have easily attained the felicity of heavenly life but te desired permanent happiness. Hence, he surrendered himself at the feet of the Lord.
