summary of the earlier Logical Doctrine. 1, 18. शास्त्रता चास्य...वृद्धवाद:-This is how the old commentators justify
the title of ' T' given to this Verse. Here is again one

feature which distinguishes the particular cow in a herd of
Cows. GRANI 99.7777 etc.—Which of these cows is rich in milk ?: "The P. 42. black one. -Here 'black' is the distinguishing mark, and
not 'rich in milk'. But pointing to a particular cow one may say, 'this cow is rich in milk' where 'to be rich in milk is her distinguishing feature. Thus, the Pañjika discovering a slight looseness of thought in the Vrtti justifies it with reference to particular circumstances,
