મહાવીર ' ના પિતાશ્રીનું નામ સિદ્ધાર્થ રાજા, ને માતાજીનું નામ ત્રિશલાદેવી; તેમનો જન્મ ચૈત્ર સુદ ૧૩ના દિવસે વૈશાલીના કુંડગામમાં થયો હતો. જન્મથી જ તેઓ મહાન આત્મજ્ઞાની અને વૈરાગી હતા. સ્વર્ગમાંથી દેવો તેમની સેવા કરવા આવતા, અને નાના બાળકનું રૂપ કરીને તેમની સાથે રમતા હતા. "Mahavir's" father was King Siddartha. His mother's name was Trishaladevi. He was born on the thirteenth day of the increasing moon of the lunar calendar month of Chaitra in the city of Kundgram-Vaishali in India. Right from his birth, he was greatly knowledgeable of the Soul and was indifferent to the worldly pleasures. Heavenly beings used to serve him and play with him in the form of children.
