Because of his conduct of this kind, his powers, instead of coming into light, were wasted. None of his original works is known, but he had helped Śree Dévèndra Sūri in researches etc. and in the preparation of Sudarsana-c'arıtra Moreover he had advised people to get Tad.patra manuscripts prepared. He had three pupils named Vajraséna, Padmac'andra, and Ksemakirti. Ksema-- kirti had composed additional explanatory notes on BrihadKalpasutra' written by BhadrabāhuSwāmi. Śree Vidyānanda Sūri. He used to live in Ujjain situated in Mālva. His father's name was Jinabhadra and his own name was Viradhavala Viradhavala had a quiet and noble nature. When he came of age, his father arranged for the nuptial ceremony. Through chance, Viradhavala had an occasion to come in contact with Śree Dévéndra Sûri and the wonderful method of preaching of Dévéndra Sūri impre ssed him much. Who does not receive light after coming in contact with a philosopher's stone ? On account of the teacher's advice he did not give his consent to the marriage, but accepted the life of austerity in 1302. This was in no way an insignificant act. He had entirely changed the direction of his boat of life. Instead of taking the risk of being drowned into the ocean of this world, he desired to cross it What is impossible to a great soul ?
