Which is almā (Jiva, in a body furnished with bands, head and other members of the body? Thinking him to be a meritorious person, the Venerable Bhagavān said That which is designated hy aham (I) in the body, is called ātmā (Jiva)
Ques--How can one know it.
Ans---- O Brāhman! It is quite distinct from head, bands and other members of the body, and it is sūksma (minute).
Ques...Why is it called Sūksma?
Ans ---Because it is not preceptible by organs of senses. Objecis possessing sabda (sound), rasa (taste), gandha (smell), sparsa (touch), etc cannot be placed under the catégory of almatva (the state of possessing life), as they are perceived by the organs of senses While ātmā is not perceived by sense-organs. These questions were explained in great detail.
Svātidatta was satisfied. Having thereby known that Sramaņa Bhagavão Mahāvira was a great philosopher, Svāti-darta adored him with great devotion, and Bhagavān thinking him to be a deserving person enlightened him on various subjects.

At the end of the rainy season, Vira Paramātmā-capable of cutting through masses of evil Karmas like a plough cutting through ground went to Joimbhita-grāma. Surendra came there with the object of paying homage to him. Having done dancing and dramatic performance, the Indra told him:- "O Teacher of the World ! After a few days, you will atain the all-illuminating Kévala Jñana (Perfect Knowledge).
Sramana Bhagavän Mahāvira then went to Médhaka-grama There Camaréndra having remembered previous favour, came with the object of paying homage to Worshipful Bhagavān and having bowed down at his lotus-like feet, he went away to his own abode,
