Tirthankar and other Kevali possess infinite knowledge which is known as Keval Jnan. However other human beings possess varying degree of knowledge based on their knowledge obscuring
(Jnanavaraniya) karma. Broadly knowledge has been classified in five categories: Mati Jnan Shruta Jnan Avadhi Jnan Manahparyay Jnan

Omniscience Knowledge Shruta Jnan - knowledge which is obtained by the study of scriptures, teachers and other such means through the 5 senses.
Mati Jnan - knowledge which is obtained through the 5 senses.
Avadhi Jnan - extra-perceptual knowledge which is obtained enabling its possessors to perceive events happening at distant places.
Manahparyay Inan - telepathic knowledge
or reading the minds of others which is possessed by spiritually advanced monks.
Keval Jnan - omniscience which is possessed by Tirthankar and other Keval Jnani ascetics.
