Istopadeśa - The Golden Discourse
When the threefold activity of the body, the sense-organ of speech, and the mind is curbed well, there is no room for passionate dispositions in the soul. Without passion and activity, complete stoppage of karmic influxes takes place. Without influxes, there can be no karmic bondage. Without karmic bondage there can be no quasi-karmic matter (nokarma). And without quasi-karmic matter, the cycle of births and deaths ceases to exist.
