Iṣṭopadeśa - The Golden Discourse
ब्रुवन्नपि हि न ब्रूते गच्छन्नपि न गच्छति । स्थिरीकृतात्मतत्त्वस्तु पश्यन्नपि न पश्यति ॥
The Yogi who is established firmly in self-identity does not speak while speaking, does not walk while walking, and does not see while seeing.
EXPLANATORY NOTES
The Yogi, established in self-identity, devoid of attachment and aversion, knows the sweet-bitter taste of the fruition of karmas but remains a non-enjoyer. He knows the nature of different kinds of karmic bondage involving merit (punya) and demerit (pāpa), and their fruition, but never produces or enjoys them.
Acārya Kundakunda expounds in Samayasara:
जह सिप्पिओ दु कम्मं कुव्वदि ण य सो दु तम्मओ होदि । तह जीवो वि य कम्मं कुव्वदि ण य तम्मओ होदि ॥ जह सिप्पिड करणेहिं कुव्वदि ण य सो दु तम्मओ होदि । तह जीवो करणेहिं कुव्वदि ण य तम्मओ होदि ॥
