In some traditions these events took place on Friday, April 3rd, 29 C.E. It is believed that the body of Jesus was buried in a tomb, but on the third he became alive again. The New Testament tells that the Risen Jesus remained with his close disciples for forty days, disclosing a deeper spiritual knowledge to them. He then ascended to heaven in their sight.25
