A Child's Quest to find his "Purpose of Life"
Student-Neel: M'am we are trying to understand what the purpose of
our life is. We have a few basic questions that we don't seem to have answers to. I'm curious to know..........
What do we all want in this world? Pathshala Teacher: Happiness Student-Neel: M'am.......... What is Happiness? Pathshala Teacher: "Anakulta* (3781 cctat)".......... Beta, desire of any
kind leads to anxiety.......... as a result, subconsciously you are always in a state of wanting a desirable outcome or finding ways to avoid an undesirable event. This causes turmoil and unrest.......... At any point of time, there are millions of things we either subconsciously desire to acquire, avoid or keep forever. As a result, our mind is in a state of continuously analyzing data from our knowledge base and extrapolating favorable outcomes. This causes stress, because most of the outcomes are neither in our control nor will all of them come true. Similar to how a computer gets heated up after performing too many calculations, our mind also gets heated up due to non-stop calculations. This results in stress/anxiety/unrest. "Anakulta"* / "Happiness" is a state where, you don't have desire and expectations. You reach this state when you realize you are not affected by anything that changes. It's a state of mind where you are in complete harmony with yourself and everyone around you. There are no desires or expectations...this is
“Happiness". Student - Raj: M'am, people from other religion also seem happy,
then why do we practice Jainism only? Student - Robin: What's there in Jainism that's not there in other
