Elaboration—Transgressing the code of social behaviour and religious conduct produces this sentiment; bashfulness and apprehension are its expressions. Shame produces a fe apprehension of an ungainly act getting revealed and is expressed by bowing of head and cringing of the body.
This example reveals that at some place or period the custom of displaying a bride's blood-splotched garments after her
oon as the proof of her pre-marital chastity prevalent. The elders of the family expressed their contentment after this display. That is why this has been included as an example of Vridanak-rasa (sentiment of shame or bashfulness). ६. बीभत्सरस (७) असुइ-कुणव-दुईसणसंजोगभासगंधनिप्फण्णो।
निव्वेयऽविहिंसालक्खणो रसो होइ बीभत्सो॥७४॥ २६२. (७) अशुचि-मल मूत्रादि, कुणप-शव, दुर्दर्शन-लार आदि से व्याप्त घृणित शरीर को बारंबार देखने तथा उसकी दुर्गंध से बीभत्सरस उत्पन्न होता है। निर्वेद, ग्लानि या उदासीनता और अविहिंसा (जीव हिंसा के प्रति अरुचि) बीभत्सरस के लक्षण हैं।।७४।। बीभत्सो रसो जहा
असुइमलभरियनिग्झर सभावदुग्गंधि सव्वकालं पि।
धण्णा उ सरीरकलिं बहुमलकलुसं विमुंचंति॥७५॥ बीभत्सरस का उदाहरण
अपवित्र मल से भरे हुए झरनों वाला सर्वकाल स्वभाव से दुर्गन्धयुक्त यह शरीर सर्व कलहों का मूल है। यह जानकर जो उसकी मूर्छा का त्याग करते हैं, वे धन्य हैं।।७५॥ 6. VIBHATSA-RASA
