knowledge), Avadhi Jnan (visual knowledge) and Manah Paryav Jnan (mental knowledge ). But I do not have Kewal Jnan (perfect knowledge). The Kewal Jnan is with Arihants.
O Pradeshi ! I have read your mind and mental thoughts with the help of said four types of knowledge that I in this non-perfect state of knowledge have."
विवेचन - सूत्र में आभिनिबोधिक (मति) ज्ञान आदि पाँच ज्ञानो के नाम और उन ज्ञानो के भिन्न-भिन्न भेदो का नाम उल्लेख करके शेष वर्णन नदीसूत्र के अनुसार करने का सकेत किया गया है। सचित्र नन्दीसूत्र मे पाँच ज्ञान का विस्तृत वर्णन है । पाठक वहाँ देख ले । सक्षेप मे पाँचो ज्ञान का स्वरूप इस प्रकार है
(१) आभिनिबोधिकज्ञान - जो ज्ञान पाँच इन्द्रियो और मन के द्वारा उत्पन्न हो और सन्मुख आये हुए पदार्थों के स्वरूप को इन्द्रियो के आश्रित होकर जाने, उस बोध को आभिनिबोधिकज्ञान कहते है। इसका दूसरा नाम मतिज्ञान भी है।
(२) श्रुतज्ञान - शब्द को सुनकर जिससे अर्थ का ज्ञान हो, उसे श्रुतज्ञान कहते है।
(३) अवधिज्ञान - इन्द्रिय और मन की अपेक्षा न रखते हुए केवल आत्मा के द्वारा मूर्त्त पदार्थो का साक्षात् बोध करने वाला ज्ञान अवधिज्ञान कहलाता है।
(४) मनः पर्यवज्ञान - जिस ज्ञान से मन के परिणामो को प्रत्यक्ष बोध किया जाये, उसे मन पर्यवज्ञान कहते है।
(५) केवलज्ञान - जो ज्ञान मन, इन्द्रिय आदि किसी की सहायता के बिना समस्त मूर्त-अमूर्त (रूपी - अरूपी) ज्ञेय पदार्थो को हाथ की रेखाओ के समान प्रत्यक्ष जानने में सक्षम हो, वह केवलज्ञान है। यह ज्ञान निरावरण, नित्य और शाश्वत है।
इन पाँच प्रकार के ज्ञानो मे से आदि के दो ज्ञान परोक्ष और अन्तिम तीन ज्ञान प्रत्यक्ष है ।
Elaboration-In the aphorism the names of five types of knowledge namely Abhinibodhik Jnan (sensitive knowledge) and others and their sub-types has been mentioned. Further description has been referred to as in Nandi Sutra. In Illustrated Nandi Sutra, the detailed description of five types of knowledge has been given. The reader is advised to see it from there. In brief, however, the five types of knowledge is as under
(1) Abhinibodhik Jnan (Sensitive Knowledge)-This is the knowledge derived by five sense-organs and the mind. Since it knows the things when they appear before the senses-organs, it is called Abhinibodhik Jnan. The other name of this knowledge is Mati Jnan
(2) Shrut Jnan (Scriptural Knowledge)-This is the knowledge of meaning gained on hearing the word.
