उस माणवक चैत्य-स्तम्भ की पश्चिम दिशा मे आठ योजन लम्बी-चौडी, चार योजन मोटी, सर्वमणिमय, स्वच्छ-निर्मल एक बडी मणिपीठिका है। उस मणिपीठिका के ऊपर एक श्रेष्ठ रमणीय देव - शय्या रखी हुई है।
उस देव-शय्या का वर्णन इस प्रकार है, जैसे- इसके प्रतिपाद (पॉव रखने का स्थानपायदान) अनेक प्रकार की मणियों से बने हुए हैं। स्वर्ण के पाये हैं । पादशीर्षक (पायों के ऊपरी भाग) अनेक प्रकार की मणियो के हैं। गाते (ईसाऍ, पाटिया) सोने की हैं। साँधें वज्र रत्नों से भरी हुई हैं। बाण (निवार) विविध रत्नमयी है। तूली (बिछौना - गादला), बिब्बोयण ( बड़ा तकिया) लोहिताक्ष रत्न का है। गंडोपधानिका (सिरहाने लेने का छोटा तकिया) सोने का है।
उस शय्या पर शरीर प्रमाण गद्दा बिछा है। उसके शिरोभाग और चरणभाग (सिरहाने और पॉयते) दोनों ओर तकिये लगे हैं। वह दोनों ओर से ऊँची और मध्य में नत - झुकी हुई, गंभीर गहरी है। जैसे - गंगा किनारे की बालू में पाँव रखने से पॉव धँस जाता है, उसी प्रकार बैठते ही नीचे की ओर धँस जाते हैं। उस पर रजस्त्राण (मसहरी) लगी हुई है । कसीदा वाला क्षौमदुकूल (रुई की बनी चादर - बैडसीट) बिछी है। उसका स्पर्श आजिनक - मृगछाला, रुई, बूर नामक वनस्पति, मक्खन और आक की रुई के समान कोमल है। वह रक्तांशुकलाल तूस से ढका रहता है । वह अत्यन्त रमणीय, सुन्दर है ।

In the west of that post there is an 8 yojans long square and 4 yojans thick gem-studded platform. It is fully covered with gems and is neat and clean. A grand and attractive bed for gods is on that platform.
The description of that bed is as under-Its foot mats are made many types of gems. Its legs are of gold. The upper part of the legs are studded with various types of jewels. The paatees are of gold. The joints are of Vajra gems. The knitting is of various jewels. The mattress and the pillow are of red jewels. The small pillow for side rest is of gold.
