Illustration No. 4 समवसरण में नाट्य-प्रदर्शन श्रमण भगवान महावीर की धर्मदेशना सुनने के पश्चात् सूर्याभदेव ने निवेदन किया-“भन्ते । मै • आपकी भक्तिवश गौतमादि श्रमणो के समक्ष अपनी दिव्य देवऋद्धि तथा बत्तीस प्रकार की नाट्यकला का प्रदर्शन करना चाहता हूँ।"
भगवान मौन रहे। मौन को स्वीकृति मानकर भगवान के सम्मुख एक सिहासन पर बैठकर अपनी दाहिनी भुजा फैलाकर एक सौ आठ देव कुमार निकाले। फिर बायी भुजा से एक सौ आठ देव कुमारियाँ ka निकाली। सभी एक समान रूप-लावण्य शोभायुक्त थीं।
उसके पश्चात् नृत्य-गायन वादित्र मे उपयोगी विविध उपकरण आदि की विकुर्वणा करके देव कुमारो व देव कुमारियों को आज्ञा दी- "भगवान महावीर तथा गौतमादि श्रमण निर्ग्रन्थो को तीन प्रदक्षिणायुक्त वन्दना करके बत्तीस प्रकार की नाट्यकला का प्रदर्शन करो।''
आज्ञा पाकर सभी देव कुमार एव देव कुमारियाँ तीन बार झुककर फिर सीधे खडे होकर भगवान महावीर तथा श्रमणो को वन्दना करते है।

THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE IN THE SAMAVASARAN
After listening to the discourse of Bhagavan Mahavir, Suryabh Dev said-"Bhante ! I wish to exhibit before Gautam and other saints the celestial wealth and thirty two types of theatrical performances”
Bhagavan remained silent Taking his silence to be his consent, Suryabh Dev sat on a throne facing Bhagavan, extended his right arm and produced one hundred and eight young gods He then extended his left arm and produced one hundred and eight divine damsel's They were all equally beautiful and charming
Thereafter he created a variety of musical instruments and instructed the young gods and damsels-"Pay homage to Bhagavan Mahavir, Gautam and other Shramans after going around them three times and then present thirty two types of performances”
At this command all the young gods and damsels bow and get straight three times and offer salutations to Bhagavan Mahavir and the Shramans
