विवेचन-उपरोक्त विवरण के अनुसार व्यंजनावग्रह चक्षु तथा मन को छोड़ अन्य इन्द्रियों में 卐 होता है। इन दोनों में अर्थावग्रह होता है। नोइन्द्रिय का अर्थ मन है, जिसकी क्रिया मनन या
चिन्तन है। इसके संबंध में अवग्रह को स्पष्ट करने के लिए स्वप्न का उदाहरण दिया है। स्वप्न में ॐ द्रव्येन्द्रियाँ निष्क्रिय होती हैं जो भी अनुभूति होती है वह सब मन के द्वारा। जागृत होने पर स्वप्न + में अनुभूत सभी क्रियाओं को वह अवग्रह, ईहा अवाय और धारणा तक ले जाता है। यह * आवश्यक नहीं कि स्वप्न में देखी हुई सभी बातों को वह धारणा तक ले ही जाए। कुछ बातें # अवग्रह तक, कुछ ईहा और कुछ अवाय तक ही रह जाती हैं। 卐 वृत्तिकार आचार्य श्री मलयगिरि ने मल्लक के दृष्टान्तों से व्यंजनावग्रह का स्पष्टीकरण करते ॥
हुए प्रसंगवश मतिज्ञान के भेदों का विस्तृत वर्णन भी दिया है। मतिज्ञान के अवग्रह आदि २८
भेद होते हैं। व्यंजनावग्रह-४, अर्थावग्रह-६, ईहा-६, अवाय-६, धारणा-६। इनमें से प्रत्येक के + क्षमतारूपी १२-१२ भेद होते हैं। इस प्रकार कुल मिलाकर ३३६ भेद होते हैं।
