The wise man who is aware of the faults of conduct and thought should never use the above detailed prohibited styles of language or any other style that hurts any being. १४ : तहेव होले गोले ति साणे वा वसुले ति ।
दमए दुहए वावि नेवं भासिज्ज पन्नवं॥ १५ : अज्जिए पज्जिए वावि अम्मो माउस्सिअ त्ति य।
पिउस्सिए भाइणिज्ज त्ति धूए नत्तुणिए त्ति य॥ १६ : हले हलि त्ति अनि त्ति भट्टे सामिणि गोमिणि।
____ होले गोले वसुलि त्ति इत्थिअं नेवमालवे॥ इसी प्रकार प्रज्ञाशील मुनि अरे होल ! अरे गोला ! अरे कुक्कर (कुत्ते) ! अरे वसुल (नीच) ! अरे द्रमुक (दरिद्र) ! अरे दुर्भग (भाग्यहीन) ! इत्यादि कठोर वाक्य कभी भी न बोले॥१४॥ (देखें चित्र १३)
स्त्रियों के साथ बातचीत करते समय भी हे आर्यिक (दादी अथवा नानी) ! हे प्रार्यिके (परदादी) ! हे अम्ब (माँ) ! हे मौसी ! हे बुआ ! हे भाणजी ! हे पुत्री ! हे पौत्री ! हे हले ! हे अन्ने ! हे भट्टे ! हे स्वामिनि ! हे गोमिनि ! हे होले ! हे गोले ! हे वसुले ! इत्यादि स्नेहसिक्त अथवा चाटुकारीपूर्ण तथा निन्दित-गर्हित शब्दों का प्रयोग न करे॥१५-१६॥
14, 15, 16. In the same way a wise shraman should never utter such offending words of address as–O fool! O slave! O dog! O rascal! O beggar! or Oill fated! (illustration 13)
While talking to women an ascetic should avoid pleasing, flattering or offending terms of address such as–O grand mother! O great grand mother! O mother! O aunt! O niece! O daughter! O grand daughter! O friend! O Hali (a Brahmin woman)! O Anni (a term of address for sister-in-law. At some places it is used for aunt also)! O Bhatte! O Swamini!
